Barry Bones thinks Marc Ecko is stupid. Ecko is the clothing designer who bought ball # 756 for $750,000. Ecko is allowing the general public to vote for what should be done to the ball on his website. The last option is ‘to send it to space.’
Bonds says:
He spent $750,000 on the ball and that’s what he’s doing with it? What he’s doing is stupid.
Bonds reportedly thinks spending three quarters of a mill on a ball is a waste of money. You know what I think is a waste of money? Paying an over-the-hill slugger $15+ mill just to get a few sellouts during the chase of a record.
I am not a Bonds hater or lover; I am entirely neutral as to my feelings of him and his record. Essentially, I just don’t give a fuck. I do applaud what Ecko is doing, though. I think he could offer a few more funny options for the ball’s demise, but at least he’s on the right track.
