Wanna know why the BoSox have the advantage in this year’s post season? Because they have Josh Beckett, and no one else does.
The Sox gave Beckett a ridiculous contract essentially because he was a stud for the Marlins in the ‘03 playoffs. You remember this: "They’re paying a .500 pitcher that much money?!" Well, they did, and it already paid off last night in his 4 hit shut out.
Beckett has started 166 regular season games, and has just two shut outs. Compare that with his three shut outs in just six post season starts, including a two hit shut out to clinch the World Series in New York in 2003.
I’m neither a fan of the Yankees or the Sox, but I am a Roger Clemens hater, and I can’t wait til the ALCS when Beckett is out there burning heaters by the Yanks and then Clemens comes out squirting hemroids out of his ass. Yuck.

I always liked Beckett. He showed some serious sack during the Marlins world series run that year. He was basically unhittable during that time.
BTW, I can’t stand Clemens either. Great pitcher, but there is something about him that I just don’t like.
